Our hybrid class last night was so much fun. I was concerned that I wouldn't know what to do once I got onto the session, but everyone was very helpful. One of our projects was to complete an award for a student and add a seal. It was simple until I tried to put the seal on mine, but I got through it. :) We also had to get into groups using a break out session. This was cool. We were placed into 3 seperate groups in which we could only communicate with our partners via keyboard. We had to gather information on a topic and relay that info to our group. This was fun but somewhat frustrating. It was difficult to look up information and communicate with our partners at the same time. It worked out for all of us and each project was great. It was helpful to here and see our professor. He helped out when I needed it. I learned a lot in our hybrid session. It was fun.

  1. I had fun with the hybrid class but even I was frustrated with it at one point or another. I had a lot of fun creating the award. I printed mine out for my daughter. We are working on her times tables and she's having problems. Now I have an award to give her when she completes a times table set.

  2. I think having Chester communicating with us via audio and visual means was very helpful because his answers to our questions didn’t get lost in all of the chatter. While it was somewhat confusing at times, I think with a little time, patience and practice that this could be a very useful tool to educators.

  3. I agree with Leanne...with some practice and patience it could work out smoother next time around. There was some frustration, but I think everyone experienced that, and it was normal especially for some of us first time hybrid users. I'm glad we got to be part of a group together!

  4. Shannon,
I am so glad that you enjoyed this way of learning. Personally, I would love all of our classes to be this way. It was so much fun to do the break out assignment and I loved how we were able to collaborate from our own homes. Looking at the completed projects you would never know that we did not work side by side on them and I think that was the most exciting part of it all.

  5. It would have been even more fun if we could have all talked to eachother! At least we were able to text eachother and draw cool pics! It was very helpful to be able to at least hear and see our instructor. I'm curious to see what next week will bring!

  6. The communication was very hard, especially when we were all put in groups. But after a while I believe we all got a hang of it and started to have fun with the project. Hopefully next class it'll be a lot more easier and less stressful.

  7. The hybrid class was fun and difficult at the same time. We all managed to get to trouble shoot through our difficulties. A big applause for everyone in class :) It was definately a big help that the was able to see and hear the professor. I know the class would have been a lot more difficult without that assistance.
