Hybrid classes......
When our professor discused having hybrid sessions, I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect and honestly thought I would get lost. The first hybrid session was fun. It was not at all what I thought it would be. It was difficult to here our professors voice, that was a bit frustrating for me, but I thought I kept up ok with that class. It was neat to see us branch off into seperate groups to do our projects. I didn't know that could be done. I learned a lot from that experience. The second hybrid class was extremely frustrating to me. I was so overwhelmed. It took me 5 hours that night to do a couple of the assignments. Some of the assignments were not working properly. I was unable to view them, and that frustrated me even more. Scholar was easy to use but Diigo was difficult for me. I was able to create one but I'm not one hundred percent sure I did it correctly. Over all I enjoyed the hybrid sessions and I became a little more comfortable with my computer and it's uses. This class has helped me relax and enjoy the computer more. I've honestly come a long way since the very first class and it feels good!!!!!

I was a little frustrated with the audio quality but we managed to get through it. I think everyone did a really good job on the hybrid assignments we did in the first hybrid class. I'm glad to hear you have enjoyed using the computer more. I'm glued to my computer at home, I use it for everything. I would definitely feel more comfortable using technology in my classroom in the future since taking this class.
ReplyDeleteI understand your apprehension towards the hybrid classes they can be frustrating. I experienced more difficulty with the second hybrid class as well. There was a lot of information to cover and different spots in Blackboard to access it. The one thing that I have taken away from these sessions is knowing that while it may not always go smoothly I can trouble shoot and figure it out and it is helping me to not feel so nervous when using new technology.
ReplyDeleteI had a really difficult time with the second class also. I thought I was going to lose my mind! All I have to say is I'm glad it is over! LOL Definetly a learning experience thats for sure. I did enjoy the first class also, it was neat going into different groups and working on projects together!
ReplyDeleteShannon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a ride we had for the hybird class, we were there a long time too and towards the end we were all ready to pass out, I could not function anymore and I was up at 4:00 a.m. to get ready for work so I did not know if I was going to make it to work. I do have to say that it was a learning experience and I will never forget it.
I just think that all of you girls are awesome and we try to help one another when we get stuck, because I know I am always stuck. We are almost done with this intense technology...

I definitely liked the first hybrid session better than the second one. The second session had a lot of information and it wasn't all in one place. I think if the information for the second hybrid session had all been in one folder it might have been a tiny bit easier to deal with.
ReplyDeleteTechnology can be a challenge. The key is practice. The only way to learn is by trying. It can be a bit scary. I myself had a few set backs. I'm very proud of your progress. You have come along way! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you. You have learned so much since we began this class and I can not imagine you doing a hybrid session before this quarter. Although the second hybrid class was frustrating, like you said you made it through it. I think the great thing about these hybrid sessions were how the pushed us. During class its easy just to follow what are professor does on his computer to figure stuff out, but at home we were pushed hard and have learned a great deal. I am so glad you are enjoying this class and are actually going to get to use this info in the real world.
